Welcome

Glycans & Proteoglycans: The Sweet and Smart Molecules of the 21th Century

We are pleased to announce the 2017 Joint Workshop of the International Associated Laboratory Nancy-Dundee (IAL SulFo- & Glycosyltransferase ENzymes, SFGEN), the Fédération de Recherche 3209 (Biologie Moléculaire Cellulaire et Thérapeutique, BMCT) and the CNRS-UL unit 7365 (Ingénierie Moléculaire & Physiopathologie Articulaire, IMoPA).

This international meeting will be held the 18th-19th October 2017 in Vandœuvre-lès-Nancy, neighboring the town of Nancy  (France).

The major objective of this workshop is :
- to promote the field of glycosciences as a mainstream science crossing disciplines from biology to chemistry and biophysic,
- to emphasize the great potential of glyco-drugs and of drugs targeting glyco-enzymes,
- to present most recent major technological advances in glycobiology.
The event will gather most renowned European glycobiologists and "gagophiles".

The meeting will be introduced by a keynote lecture by Dr Anne Imberty (CERMAV, Grenoble, France), presented as a TEDx-talk. It will be also a fantastic opportunity for young scientists/researchers to present their favorite glycans through “My glycans in 300 seconds” (flash didactic oral communication), but also as a short communication or a poster.             Abstract submission is open online.

We look forward to welcome you in Nancy, capital of the Dukes of Lorraine, birthplace of Art Nouveau and its famous Stanislas Place, a UNESCO World Heritage.
We promise you will love bergamotes, macaroons and mirabelles.

On behalf of the scientific committee,

Sylvie Fournel-Gigleux & Didier Mainard
